MIFFC has actively collaborated in the various stages of the environmental impact assessment and review process in Quebec, led by the Ministère de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques (MELCC).
Here are the steps through which the project is evaluated:
Environmental Impact Assessment and Review Process in Southern Québec

The environmental impact assessment was submitted to the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and the Fight against Climate Change (MDDELCC) and was evaluated as admissible by the competent authority. In order to continue its consultation efforts, MIFFC took the initiative to request the Quebec government to trigger the information and consultation process of an investigative commission of the Bureau d’audiences publiques en environement (BAPE).

The project was authorized by order-in-council by the Quebec government in June 2019.
