The terminal will be located on lands owned by the Montréal Port Authority in a sector dedicated to marine terminals and the transfer of petroleum products.
The project includes:
- The use of an existing wharf for ships transporting jet fuel
- A marine terminal with storage tanks for the loading and storage of jet fuel
- A railcar loading site
- A short pipeline between the two sites
- A 7 km transfer pipeline that will connect the terminal to the existing pipeline Trans-Northern Pipelines Inc. (TNPI) facility that currently distributes jet fuel to the Montreal Trudeau International Airport.
The project requires an investment of $ 150 million from MIFFC. After completion of the work, the airport fuel terminal will have a storage capacity of 160 million liters.
