The terminal will be located on two sites operated by the Montreal Port Authority, in a sector dedicated to loading terminals for petroleum products.
The project includes:
- A marine terminal with a transshipment dock and eight storage tanks (Site 1);
- A rail and road transloading site;
- A short pipeline between the two sites;
- A pipeline to connect Site 1 to the existing Trans-Northern Pipelines Inc. (TNPI) pipeline already serving Montreal’s Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport with Jet A and Jet A-1 fuels from Montreal East.
The project requires an investment of $200 million from MIFFC. After completion of the work, the airport fuel terminal will have a storage capacity of 160 million litres.
