The main stages of this process are presented in this section.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The information and consultation process undertaken by MIFFC began in November 2014.<\/li>\n<li>Open houses were held in April and July 2015, to consult the public and pass on general information about the project.<\/li>\n<li>The environmental impact study was filed with the MELCCFP on November 6, 2015.<\/li>\n<li>Following a public consultation held in winter 2016, the CMM submitted its final report and recommendations on the project.<\/li>\n<li>In May 2018, the Bureau d&#8217;audiences publiques sur l&#8217;environnement tabled its report, recognizing that the site selected by the MIFFC is appropriate for the project, with its recommendations.\n<ul>\n<li>The final report can be found here: <a href=\"https:\/\/voute.bape.gouv.qc.ca\/dl?id=00000059265\">https:\/\/voute.bape.gouv.qc.ca\/dl?id=00000059265<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The project was authorized by decrees of the Quebec government in June 2019 and June 2022.<\/li>\n<li>At the end of August 2023, the liaison committee held its first meeting with local stakeholders.
